A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
Gemma has worked for over 15 years in the animal care industry from Boarding Kennels, Catteries, Veterinary clinics, Pet retail, Animal charity groups and SPCA and has qualifications in Animal Care and Veterinary Nursing. Gemma is capable to give advice in the welfare and care of most companion and small pets. Her specialty being canines from puppyhood through to elder care and worked previously in the rehoming of retired greyhounds. Gemma is comfortable in caring for pets with ongoing illness and requiring daily medication and close care. She has a passion for elderly pets and strives to cater to their every need.
Gemma has a large animal family of her own and lives on a lifestyle block in Swannanoa with her partner, four dogs, two cats and leopard gecko. She also has experience with livestock and has on her property a variety of poultry, beef cattle and goats.
Gemma has a can do attitude, an eye for detail and quality service and happy to give anything a try. She is looking forward to bringing you the best in Pet Care to the Waimakariri District.

IN HOME BOARDING
In our home we cater for small numbers of dogs, cats and small pets. Dogs are treated as members of our family and would suit dogs that are happy in a home environment with other pets and/or elderly dogs (or cats) needing medication and one on one care in a quiet surrounding on our lifestyle block. Cats are provided with their own indoor room in our home where all needs and care are taken care of, just provide their favourite food! Offered for a wide range of small caged animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, birds, poultry, rats, mice and reptiles just bring your pet and their home to us and we take care of the rest.

PET MINDING
IN YOUR HOME CARE
All visits are designed to suit you and your pet’s specific needs, including a daily report on your pets and property. While visiting your pet we can monitor the pets health, feed, water, medicate, clean cages and litter boxes. Visits can be once or twice daily and can be either 30 minutes to an hour. Visits for cats alone at home we recommend twice daily as less human contact leads to cats tending to look for other people away from home and can then become lost or missing. Unfortunately dog minding is unavailable in your home for longer than overnight time lengths. Please contact us for recommendation for longer term care for dogs.

In home visits can be great for new pets, puppies and kittens while they are settling in, this day visit is based on a 30 minute visit. Includes check of the home, cleaning and feeding if required and of course play time. Giving you peace of mind while you’re away from home.

EXTRAS - Feel safe in the knowledge that in your absence, an experienced Pet sitter will be calling on your home every day, collecting and bringing in mail, watering plants, opening and closing blinds and just generally making your home look 'lived in.' At no extra cost.
30 min: $20.00 / 60 min: $35.00 per day. Discount given for twice daily visits.
PET TRANSPORT &
DOG WALKING
We will happily pick up, transport and when needed stay with your pet for the duration of their visit and return them home safe and sound. ​

Dog Walking available weekdays, 9am to 7pm. Discounts given for regular weekly bookings and also for multiple dog homes. These can be individual or group outings to beach, forest or local walks to suit your dogs.
Price by distance traveled for transport and by per dog for walking. Please ask for a quote.
